Cupcakes and Convos at The Twig

It was a full house at The Twig for our sit-and-sign this Valentine’s Day! You can see pics of the event here now. We shared cupcakes and conversations with moms, daughters, sisters, friends, and neighbors. They told me about their own job journeys — ranging from stay-at-home mom, to nursing, to the military, to data engineering.

I even spoke with a death investigator! While she enlightened me with stories from her impressive 20-year career, I joked that I knew a bit about her job from binge-watching The Closer starring Kyra Sedgwick.

I was overjoyed to meet these women and share my story with them. But I didn’t expect to be so moved and inspired by the ups and downs of their journeys, too. The road to success isn’t always a straight path. We have to remember to slow down and notice all the promise and progress along the way.
